Tim Lovell

Tim founded Lovell’s Hockey Schools in 2002, when he retired from playing professional hockey. He began his career at Norwood High School and was recruited to play at the University of Maine (1994-95 All Hockey East, 1995-96 All New England, 1995 USA Team, 1996 USA Team). Tim graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst after playing the 1997-98 season for the Minutemen.

He spent the next 4 years playing professional hockey for the Las Vegas Thunder, Tacoma Sabercats, Providence Bruins, Detroit Vipers, Kentucky Thoroughblades, San Diego Gulls, and teams in Basel, Switzerland), and Bad Naugeim, Germany.

Over the past 18 years, Tim has grown his program into one of the largest amateur hockey programs in North America. Lovell Hockey runs 90+ hockey teams for players ranging from ages 5-20. Over 11,000 families have children participating in his programming, which includes teams, skill development sessions, clinics, lessons, tournaments, and a wide variety of summer camps. Lovell’s five club programs are strategically based around Massachusetts and include Boston Advantage (Hingham), the New England Knights (Raynham), the 95 Giants (Attleboro), the East Coast Leafs (Hopedale) and the Middlesex Icemen (East Boston). In addition to running the company, this season Tim also coaches the 2006 Elite ,2007 Elite, and 2009 Elite teams at the Boston Advantage Hockey Club.

Kevin attended St. Dominic Academy and Hebron Academy, where his team won a State Championship in 1994 at St Dom’s and the Prep Title in his 1995 postgraduate campaign at Hebron. After receiving Maine player of the year honors in 1994 and 1995 he attended The University of Massachusetts Amherst where he played for Joe Mallen and the UMass Minutemen through 2000. 

After his collegiate career, Kevin went directly into coaching with the staff at St. Anslem College led by Ken Kuzyk and Dave Flint. Following the 2000/2001 season he then took the job at Phillips Exeter Academy as the girls’ varsity co-head coach where he coached for the 2001/2002 season. Most recently Kevin has been working for and with the Lovell Hockey group where he began as a skills instructor in 2004. After many years as one of the head skating/skills coaches he then took the director’s role in 2016 with the Boston Advantage Hockey Club within the Lovell Group. In addition to being the director, Kevin also coaches the U18 Full Season midget team, 2006 elite team and 2009 elite team. He is also responsible for running the summer programs located in Hingham at Pilgrim Skating Rink.
